I had been using SBv3 (firmware 88), Squeezecenter 7.0.1 on Ubuntu (various versions as they came out, but now at 8.04), and a Netgear WGR614 for about a year with no wireless connectivity problems despite upgrading Squeezecenter, SB firmware, and Ubuntu whenever new versions were available.
