Upgrading ReadyNAS Duo (v1) RAM – Stuff and Nonsense
Jul 09, 2008 · Wow. I can’t believe how easy it is to turn on the ssh server feature on the ReadyNAS Duo. I thought I had to use some backdoor scripts in order to do so. Thanks to the “plug-in” architecture of the ReadyNas Duo, new features/technologies can be added to the device with just a few clicks. Since the ReadyNAS runs a Debian Sarge with a GNU/Linux 2.6.17 kernel, you can easily explore the system. CPU and Memory The CPU is a Sparc-V8 ( LEON ) that Infrant has optimized for their needs. My duo is resyncing as I write this. Drive-2 has all my data but will not boot (corrupt root). Drive-1 boots, but little-or-no data on it. I need to know if the drives are syncing correctly - so I end up with all my data from drive-2. I booted with only drive-1 in place. ReadyNAS Duo (v1) - Help recovering - NAS Oct 30, 2014 Readynas Duo v2 | Sonos Community I know this is an old thread, but still, some may still be using Netgear REadynas duo NAS devices. FWIW: I have had the v1 version for 12 years, and the v2 versions for 6 years. There are some differences. The ReadyDLNA streaming works fine, though a little finicky with the v1 version.
ReadyNAS Duo v2 and v1 rear panels. Below is a shot of the Duo v2's main board. The big difference between the v1 and v2 is the switch to a 1.6 GHz Marvell 88F6282 Kirkwood ARM processor from the custom Infrant processor used in the v1. All LED's flash 3 times followed by 2 x "1" LED flashes. I have tried the ReadyNas with individual drives but this made no difference. Last time I left it to run if was like this for over 24hrs.
