DD-WRT is a Linux-based firmware project developed to enhance the performance and features of wireless Internet routers. Launched in 2005, DD-WRT is one of the most popular alternative router firmwares due to its longevity of existence and support for a large array of devices. Just a note to confirm that the BrainSlayer builds of dd-wrt work great on the DIR-615 E1; far more stably than the stock firmware. I highly recommend for owners of this hardware. Flashed with the web version of the firmware through the standard web interface; didn't use the fancy tftp method.
